Entry 32: Democracy At Work

We have been having a discussion lately about whether or not the dog should have a part in the wedding. Lance thinks it would be a great idea, but Julie thinks the dog would just be too much. We decided that we would let family members and friends decide this issue for us. You will notice above that there is a poll that asks whether or not Maggie should be a part of the wedding. You will have 2 weeks to vote and whatever one has the most votes wins.

Entry 31: Playing Around On A Snow Day

Well today Lance had school called off because of icy roads. The good news it that it gives him some time to get caught up on things, but the bad part is that this means he will have to go one extra day to school. On March 3rd, Lance will be presenting at a conference for gifted students on how to bring your digital photos to life. He decided to make sure he remembered how to use the program and made a video about the Bruder/Huebner family (including the dog). Enjoy the video and leave any comments you would like.

Entry 30: A Weekend With The Dog

The weather here has just been terrible lately. It has been either freezing cold, windy, or snowy outside, so this weekend we decided to spend some quality time with the dog. Enjoy the pics.

Entry 29: Birthday Wishes

Even though her birthday was yesterday, we wanted to wish Julie's sister Mary a happy birthday.

Entry 28: Wedding Party Favors

We seem to be spending quite a bit of time at the tuxedo shop lately. Not only did we get Lance's tux there, but also the wedding invitations and wedding party favors. Today we went and picked up our invitations and party favors. Below you can see what the party favors look like. Lets just say that it will take a lot of patience to put the ribbon through each of the wedding dresses, so it is a good thing we have time.

Entry 27: Extreme Makeover: The Flower Edition

Julie has always looked at the kitchen table and thought that it was lacking a little something. Today she decided that flowers in a vase with rocks would be a nice centerpiece. Above you see the results of Julie's work. Martha Stewart watch out.

Entry 26: Shout Out To the Hills Part 2

Well, we received another Valentines Day gift from the Hills today; our first gift from them was broken in the mail. We received a small silver serving platter made by Lenox. I will have Lance post a picture of the gift when he comes home. Thanks again Hill family you have been so sweet to us!

Entry 25: A Big Thank You to the City Of Liberty

Well, almost every district in the Kansas City metro was out of school today due to ice and snow including Liberty. This is nice for most teachers because they get to stay home; but not the METC representatives from Liberty. (They will be home later this afternoon.)

When I woke up this morning I realized that there was a lot of snow on the driveway. I should point out that Lance normally removes all the snow from the driveway but he was gone and he has a cold. Therefore, I decided to do it I was outside for about an hour and I had half of the driveway done when a middle school student came by and finished what I had not in about 15 minutes flat. She was a VERY SWEET young lady. Although, I must admit that I felt really old when she was running across the driveway at what seemed like lightning speed. (A little like turtle and the hare, except the hare actually wins.) Then, as I was just about to finish the front porch, the mail lady showed up and finished it for me. It took her like 2 minutes but still another very nice lady.

What I learned today was although I had planned to shovel alone a couple of random acts of kindness from two different people can get things done a lot faster. It also makes you realize what a great city Liberty really is.

Entry 24 While The Cat's Away, The Mice Will Play

Well as many of you may have guessed, Lance is out of town at the METC conference in St. Charles Missouri until tomorrow evening. He asked me to come over and take care of Maggie until he returns. Maggie has been on her best behavior, but Lance did forget to mention what happens in the mornings. Well at 5:15 AM I woke up to Maggie licking me with her paws on my chest. I woke up let her out and back in and was about to lie back down when I got a text from Lance saying welcome to my world honey. Normally I would have laughed this off but at 6 AM this morning I was not in a laughing mood. (I don't know why)

Then later on that morning my sister Mary decided to take the day off and said she was coming over to pick me up to do something "fun." Well we both got a pedicure with red finger nail polish and went out to lunch and then to Wal-Mart. Mary or her husband had not been out for groceries in like three weeks; needless to say they were out of food and a few basic supplies. Thankfully, they have food now. All in all a fun day. Thanks Mary!

Entry 23: Eats For Super Bowl Sunday

We have had a relaxing weekend so far and even had a chance to go and see a movie with our friend Becci yesterday. We wanted to see The Great Debaters with Denzel Washington, but unfortunately the paper had the wrong time listed. We ended up seeing The Game Plan instead. It was a cute movie and Becci was great company. Today we are going over to the Langhorsts to watch the Super Bowl and have some good food. Julie us turning into quite the domestic goddess and decided to make some treats for the party. As you can see above Julie made some delicious brownies and also some incredible nachos which you can see below. It has been real tough for Lance to not eat those, but luckily he hasn't yet. We are leaving in 15 minutes, so hopefully Lance's self control can stay.

Entry 22: Shoutout To The Hills

Even though this is a little bit late, we would like to say thanks to Larry, Kathy, and Christa Hill. Wednesday we received a lovely Valentine's Day gift from them which consisted of 2 mugs, 2 plates, 2 bowls, and a large Hersheys Kiss. We were very flattered by the gift.
