Entry 170: A Relaxing Day

Like our previous post said, we have been very busy lately and both decided to take some time and spend it together. Lance had the day off and Julie took a day off just to spend it together. We had a fantastic day and spent some time with Tyler, Mary, and Carol. We also went and ate at one of Lance's favorite places, Buffalo Wild Wings. All in all it was a great day and we were glad to be able to spend the whole day together.

Entry 169: Busy, Busy, Busy

The title of this post pretty much sums up the past few weeks of our lives. We have both been bogged down at work with Julie doing some presentations at night and Lance doing parent teacher conferences and intramural basketball. Our weekends seem to be just as bad because we are doing all of the work that we put off until the weekend. Here are a few updates to keep you informed though:

* We got our taxes done last weekend and we were both happy, but for two different reasons. Julie was happy because we get a refund, but Lance was happy because our friend Susan gave us a heads up on a tax guy who did a great job and cost a lot less than what it normally costs. Thanks Susan.

* The dogs are doing fine. They seem to be getting along well with eachother and Bobby has adjusted to his new surroundings. His favorite thing to do is to either play ball (which he can do for hours on end) or lay on Julie's lap. He does seem to have a little bit of a chewing problem, but for some reason it is only Lance's stuff (Royals hat, dress shoes, etc...).

* We do have quite a few things on the horizon, such as Tyler's baptism, going to see The Phantom Of The Opera, and even taking a trip to Florida. We are very excited about doing these things and really can't wait until the trip to Florida.

Well keep coming back to the blog because we promise to start updating more frequently or when things calm down.

Entry 168: Valentines Day

Another Valentines Day has come and gone. This year we really didn't do anything exciting, but we both were able to do one thing we really enjoyed. We started the day off by getting haircuts, that's right we now both get our haircuts at the same place and by the same person (what can we say Esther does a good job). We then did something that Lance wanted to do which is go and see the movie The Wrestler. Lance had heard a lot of good things about the movie and he wasn't disappointed. Then we were able to do something that we had been wanting to do for awhile and that is go and see Carol's (Julie's sisters) apartment. Carol moved to Kansas City about 2 weeks ago and we just haven't been able to make it to her place until now. After visiting Carol's apartment, Lance had a treat for Julie and took her to Classy Chocolates on the square and let her pick anything she wanted. She ended up picking the chocolate covered strawberries. Then we finally came home, fixed dinner, and did what Julie wanted which was to watch her favorite show Flip This House on DVR. It may sound boring, but it was just perfect for us.

Entry 167: Happy Birthday and Valentines Day

Today as everyone knows is Valentines Day, but it is also the birthday of Lance's nephew Ethan. We want to wish him a happy birthday and wish that we could be there to celebrate it with him.

Entry 166: A Trip To The Vet

The new dog, Bobby, has been exhibiting a strange cough starting Saturday and happening very infrequently since then. Well Julie became very worried about this, so on Tuesday Lance took the dog to the vet. This what quite the experience. When we finally see the doctor he asks me what the cough sounds like and honest to goodness we spent between 3-5 minutes trying to mimic the cough. Well it ends up the Bobby suffers from Reverse Sneeze Syndrome and there is no cure for it. Well Julie and I have decided that we are going to make it our life's mission to find a cure for this disease. So if you would like please send cash (no checks) denominations of at least $50 to help us find a cure for this annoying, but not deadly disease. The video below shows what it sounds like.

Entry 164: Getting Used To Eachother

It hasn't even been a week yet and it seems like the new dog Bobby has already become a member of the family. He plays with Maggie really well and already has become attached to Julie. He will sleep with Julie at night and lay on her lap whenever she sits down. We have also come to find out that he really likes to play fetch and well as play with the Maggie's toys (including the 3 foot rawhide bone that he drug up 7 stairs). All in all we are becoming one bigger happier family.

Entry 163: Bobby

Here are the first pictures of Bobby and a video of Julie playing with the dogs.

Entry 162: Dog Update

Many of you are probably wondering how Maggie is getting along with the new dog. You (like us) will be shocked to find out that they are getting along like best friends. There has been no barking, biting, or fighting; however there has been a lot of butt sniffing. Julie went and picked out Bobby's accessories tonight and when things calm down a little bit we will post some pictures.

Entry 161: New Addition To The Family

Before you get your hopes up, no Julie is not pregnant. We have been talking for quite some time about getting another dog just for Julie and tonight Julie found one that she fell in love with. Now don't get us wrong because Maggie is a great dog, but she is just too much for Jule to handle. This new dog is named Bobby and it is a chihuahua and jack russell terrier mix. Is is nearly 2 years old and extremely docile. We will go tomorrow and pick it up and Julie is very excited. We unfortunately didn't get a picture of Bobby, but you can see his profile by clicking on the link below.
