Today was the first day that we started getting ready to paint the house. Lance now has a deadline to get it done by June 15th (the reason for that is because of some big news we received the other day, but that will come in another post) and today he began the prep work. Since the house has asbestos shingles we could not take a power washer to it, so instead Lance donned his makeshift bio hazard suit (mask, latex gloves, and goggles) and went to work cleaning each asbestos shingle by hand. It ended up taking a long time to complete, but at least it is done. Tomorrow we are hopefully going to begin priming the house.

We have been talking about it for awhile, so last Saturday we decided to bite the bullet and get new furniture. We went to Nebraska Furniture Mart (which is huge) and decided on some furniture that suited the both of us. It was delivered today and I am sure when Julie gets home she will rearrange it.

Lance's last day of school was Friday, but Julie already has started him to work on projects around the house. The first big project is to paint the house. Julie narrowed her color choices down to three and we painted samples of each on the back of the house. Now can you guess which one you think we chose? We're not telling yet, so you'll have to wait to see the finished project. If you look real close at the picture you'll see the two dogs looking out the screen door.
Every year Lance's school has an auction to raise money for United Way. This year Lance bid on and won a picture. The picture was matted and really nice, but it didn't have a frame. We waited for a few months and noticed on Saturday that Michael's was selling all of their frames 50% off. We bought a nice frame and you can see the end result below.

It was recently brought to our attention in an email (Pam) that we have been becoming a little lackadaisical in updating the blog. Well usually we don't make excuses, but this time we are. The month of May has been borderline crazy for us. Lance has been busy getting things ready for the end of the school year and Julie has been just as busy. Lance's school ends this week and then things should hopefully slow down a bit. We will make a concerned effort to update the blog more often because we have some big things coming up. You may be wondering what, but guess what you'll have to keep checking back with the blog to see.
