Entry 268: First Day Of Spring

Today was the first day of spring and what did we have: SNOW. That's right on the first day of spring we woke up to the white stuff on the ground and it just continued all day. Now some of you are probably wondering what Lance and Julie do on a snowy day, well for all of you inquiring minds here you go:

- we made two batches of pumpkin chocolate chip bread. It was the first time we have ever made it. On a scale of 1-10 Julie gave it an 8 and Lance gave it a 7.

- we made pesto tortellini soup (again the first time ever making it). On a scale of 1-10 Julie gave it a 10 and Lance gave it a 7.

- we made a batch of lemon bars yesterday also. On a scale of 1-10 Julie gave it a 5and lance gave it an 8.

- we set Julie up with her own twitter account. Lance has one and Julie always looks at his and lately has been making tweets on his account. We figured it was time for Julie to make her own and right off the bat she started following HGTV and Bob/Jillian the trainers from The Biggest Loser. If you would like to follow Julie's tweets you can find her at greinkegal23.

- we watched New Moon and even all of the extra features. Julie loved the whole movie, but Lance really enjoyed the action scenes and special effects.

- we attempted to watch The Time Travelers Wife, but after about 40 minutes we decided that it wasn't worth our time and shut it off.

So there you go, that is what Julie and Lance do when it is snowing outside. Hopefully all of you inquiring minds are now satisfied.

Entry 267: New Moon Release Party

Tonight Lance went to Wal-Mart at 11:30 pm to stand in line and purchase Julie the New Moon movie. Julie was going to go with Lance, but she was just real exhausted and fell asleep. When Lance got there the line already had about 300 people in it and wound all throughout the store. Lance was also just thrilled when he heard students calling his name as he was getting in line. When midnight rolled around Lance got the movie, but in typical Wal-Mart fashion they only had 3 checkout lines open for about 500 people. He was not happy about that. Lance finally rolled in around 1 in the morning and Julie was a happy camper.

We got our Royals season tickets in the mail today. If you want to read more about this check out our Royals blog.

Enry 265: Wedding Slide Show

We finished editing Carolyne's wedding video last weekend, but unfortunately it is way to big to post on here. We did do a slide show with the pictures that were taken though, so enjoy it below.

Entry 264: Honey Do List

This week is Lance's spring break and Julie decided it would be a perfect time to make a honey do list. The following is what she has put on the list:

1. Change all of the outlets from beige to white.
2. Shampoo the carpets in the house.
3. Thoroughly clean the kitchen.
4. Paint the basement and the downstairs bathroom.

This doesn't seem like much, but the basement has paneling which needs to be prepped to paint. The whole basement and bathroom also will need to be prime before painting. On the bright side there will be no junior high students for a full week.

Entry 263: Which Color Do You Like

Julie decided that it is time to lighten up the basement and the downstairs bathroom. How does she propose doing this: painting them both. Below you see the two colors we were thinking of using: Breadbasket and Woodrow Wilson. We both agree on the color we are going to use, but you won't see the choice until it is all done. Sorry.

Entry 262: Belated Happy Birthday

Lance's grandmothers birthday was last Saturday. She turned 86 and is still in great health. Lance's favorite memory of his grandmother is when they went to China together. It was so much fun exploring another country wih her. Happy Birthday Grandma.
