Entry 120: Who Will You Vote For

One of our friends emailed us an interesting link the other day. This link asks you a few questions about what a candidate said about an issue and asks you to click which one you support the most. At the end it lets you know which candidate you have the most in common with. Lance's was Obama, as if there was any doubt. Take the quiz yourself below.

Entry 119: Lance's Dream Car

As we were coming back to Kansas City on Interstate 70 near Columbia, Lance spotted his dream car. Julie got the camera out to snap a picture. It was Chrysler's PT Cruiser knockoff that had faux wood paneling all over it. It was awesome.... (according to Lance, Julie disagrees).

Entry 118: Movie Night

Well after we got done eating in Columbia, we finished our trip by getting to the farm to set up the equipment for movie night. We played movies on Lance's projector on the side of the barn and much fun was had by all. The snacks were also really good with hot dogs, nachos, candy, and smores enjoyed by all.

Entry 117: Lunch With Friends

This past weekend we went to the farm to help with Nancy and Kent's movie night. Before we got there though we decided to meet our good friends Tara, Josh, and their son Carter for lunch in Columbia. As always Carter took a liking to Julie and had to get a hug from her. It was great seeing them again.

Entry 116: It's A Boy

Today Julie's sister, Mary, found out what the sex of her baby is going to be and as you can probably figure out from the entry title it is a boy. We are both very happy for Mary and Phillip and we know they will make great parents. Lance has overheard Julie saying that she hopes she gets to change some dirty diapers. Congratulations Mary and Phillip.

Entry 115: The Huebner's vs. the cable company

We both love our HD television, but at times our cable company gives us fits. Time Warner cable has been doing tons of updates lately and it seems like whenever they do our box goes nuts and doesn't work. Well that wouldn't have been so bad, except for the fact that Julie's favorite show, The Biggest Loser, started last night which made this a borderline emergency. Lance left school a little early to solve this problem and after 45 minutes on the phone the lady assured him that the problem was fixed and that it would work right in 30 minutes. Lance believed her and went to pick up Julie from work, but when we got home the box still was not fixed. Lance called the cable company again and they told him to bring the box in and trade it for another one. At this point it was 6:00 and the store closed at 7:00 and The Biggest Loser started there also. Once we got to the store, it was obvious that other people were having the same problem and we waited 15 minutes to be seen. We finally got home at 7:00 and when I got the box hooked up it wasn't working like the last one. At this time I found the first hour of The Biggest Loser online and Julie watched it as I began trying to fix the box. An hour and a half later I fixed it and we were able to see the last half hour of the show. Lets just say that the cable company will get a piece of my mind today.

Entry 114: An Irreplacable Employee

Julie has really been enjoying her job lately and has even started her own blog concerning her office. Julie has started a job blog to help her clients search for jobs that are being sent to the office. Her job is even on the front page of the company's website. You can check out her blog below.

Entry 113: Falling Roads

It has been raining cats and dogs here all week. The weather forecasters all say it is because of Hurricane Ike. We were driving to eat lunch on Saturday and came across this road. As you can see in the picture it just collapsed from all of the rain we had. Good thing Julie had her cell phone and could snap the pic.

Entry 112: The Magical Lights

Lance usually gets up to let the dog outside early in the morning, but Saturday was a little bit unusual because we he went into the bathroom the lights wouldn't turn off. He tried everything to get them to turn off including hitting the wall, turning the switch on and off really quick, and even verbally threatening it. After some thinking and a call to Julie's dad we came to the conclusion that the light switch was broken. So we went to Lowe's and purchased a new one which fixed the problem. You can see a picture of what we came up with below.

Entry 111: How Time Flies

Well it seems like it has been awhile, have you missed us? Well unfortunately we have been extremely busy and just haven't had time to keep the blog updated. We are finding that since we both have jobs, that our lives have become more hectic. Let me explain a day in the life of Julie and Lance:

* 5:20 - we both get up and begin our morning ritual of getting ready for work. This includes showering, making lunches, letting the dog outside, and eating breakfast ourselves.
* 6:50 - Julie is dropped off at the bus stop and Lance gets to work.
* 3:45 - Lance gets off of work and goes home to let the dog out.
* 4:30 - Lance gets going to pick Julie up from work.
* 5:15 - Julie gets off of work.
* 6:00 - We both get home and make dinner, watch some television, and play with the dog.
* 10:00 - We are both in bed getting some sleep before we do it all again the next day.

Now I know it sounds pretty exciting and we should be able to post a little bit more, but we are just plain exhausted when we get home. Have faith though because this weekend we are going to the Renaissance Festival in Kansas City and will have some great pictures up and hopefully one of Lance eating meat on a stick.

Entry 110: New Arrangements

Recently we found out that when the dog gets hot it likes to lay next to the air conditioning vents. Granted it makes the dog cooler, but we found ourselves getting hotter. Well yesterday as we were cleaning up the dog hair in the living room, Julie came up with a brilliant idea on how we could rearrange the living room and at the same time stay cooler. You can see all of the pictures above and below.
