Entry 181: Home And Garden Show
Julie's employer was nice enough to give us 2 free tickets to see the Kansas City Home and Garden Show this past weekend. We decided to go on Sunday and we weren't disappointed. We were able to see gardens, look at hot tubs (Lance's favorite was the one below), do some wine tasting, and do something that we have been looking to do which is talk to some siding companies. We were able to get some good ideas and both had a wonderful time.

Entry 180: Baptism
Saturday was Tyler's baptism and unfortunately we were not able to attend because of the weather. We were both excited because we thought the weather was going to hold out, but then at 2:30 the freezing rain began and that eventually turned into a steady snow. We were lucky enough to be able to drop our gifts off the next day and inform his parents that Tyler is now a part of the Kansas City Royals Blue Crew (which is a big honor and also comes with a Royals hat and a backpack). We also took a picture from when Tyler was born and fixed it up a bit for them. We both can't believe how big Tyler is getting. Enjoy the pictures.

Entry 179: Cinnamon Roll
The weather today has unfortunately not been good, but we were lucky enough to go and have breakfast with both of our parents. Our parents both enjoy eating at Corner Cafe so we all decided to meet up there. They have the biggest cinnamon rolls you have ever seen from the picture below. It was nice getting the chance to catch up with everyone.

Entry 178: Big Weekend
We have been keeping ourselves pretty busy lately and this weekend will be no different. Lance's parents are coming in Friday to visit and the next day will be finishing their trip to Tulsa so they can visit Lance's dads brother. Tyler is getting baptized on Saturday, so we will get a chance to see everyone there. Before the baptism, however, we will be going to a play at the Coterie Theater about a young boy with a disability. It looks to be an interesting play and Julie's work was nice enough to purchase the tickets for whomever wanted to go in the office. As if that wasn't enough we plan to go to the Home and Garden show on Sunday. They are calling for snow on Saturday, so lets hope that holds off. Keep checking on the blog because there will be lost of updates coming.

Entry 177: Ladies Man
Lance found something out today; having a little dog really makes the ladies pay attention to you. While getting ready to pick Julie up from the bus stop, Lance went to Starbucks to get Julie a coffee. When he pulled up to the window, Bobby leaned out and all of the female baristas came over to him. He ended up with 5 dog biscuits and all of the ladies petted him. If Lance would have known this earlier, he would have bought a small dog like this years ago.
Entry 176: Metaphor Poem
In the communication arts class Lance helps out in, the students had to write a metaphor poem. In order to give a good example, Lance wrote a poem about his family. Here it is below.
Starbucks
My family loves coffee
We drink lattes, cappucinnos, iced coffees, decaffeinated, and caffeinated
We drink so much coffee that my family reminds me of it
My wife is a venti vanilla latte because she is tall and sweet
My dog Maggie is a cup of dark caffeinated coffee because she is hyper and hard to handle
My dog Bobby is a large caramel apple spice because he is small and relaxing to play with
We could call ourselves Huebnerbucks.

Happy St. Pat's Day Everyone
Hello everyone, Lance is going to have a fit when he sees this post because he is a little cranky about St. Patrick's Day but this is too good. Well as many of you know I work downtown and the parade went right down the street in front of my building. It was just too much fun to pass up. My whole office was outside on the curb watching the event. The pictures are from a coworkers cell phone. Enjoy!!

Entry 174: The Beginnings
Lance has a dream for what he wants to do with the backyard and is finally starting to work on it. As you can see below he is starting to make a brick walkway out to the firepit. The bricks still need to be leveled out and the black mulch needs to be laid, but the beginnings are there. The next goal is to get some pavers and enclose the fire pit in a circle where we can just sit and enjoy the nights. One thing at a time for right now.
Entry 173: New Shrubs
This weekend the weather was really nice, so we decided to do a little bit of yard work. One of the things that Julie decided she would like to do is to plant some foundation shrubs along the side of the house. After some investigation we settled on a Emerald Gaiety Euonymus. We decided we liked this shrub because in the winter its leaves would change from green to red. We are excited to see what they look like in a few years.

Entry 172: Wedding Video
Julie finally laid down the law with Lance and told him that 8 months was long enough to get the wedding video done. Well Lance heeded this advice and we are happy to announce that the video is in the final stages. Below is just a little piece of what is in the video.
Entry 171: Just Wait A Day
Most people in Missouri know the motto: You don't like the weather, well just wait a day or two because it will be different. This has never been more true than this week. On Saturday we had more snow that we have had all winter combined, but then you fast forward to today (Thursday) and we are enjoying a 70 degree day. Just crazy. We did take some pictures of the snow, so if you want enjoy them below.
