Entry 85: Julie Bruder No More

Today Lance likes to say it was the death of Julie Bruder and the birth of Julie Huebner. Now that the marriage certificate came back, we began the process of changing Julie's identity. Our first stop was the social security office where Julie got her last name changed on her social security card. It was actually much easier to do this than one might think. After we got a new social security card (which will be mailed to Julie in a few days), we went to the DMV and Julie Huebner got her new state id card. As if this wasn't enough, we finished off the day by opening our first joint checking and savings account. So lets just say that if you cal the house looking for Julie Bruder, you won't find her but you will find Julie Huebner.

We also had a nice lunch today at a pizza place called The Dish. It has great Chicago style pizza and we ordered one with sausage, pepperoni, green peppers, mushrooms, and black olives. Julie gave the pizza am 8 1/2 rating (on a scale of 10) and Lance gave it the extra half point with a 9 rating.

Julie also changed her email address today because she no longer has the Bruder name. She emailed her new email address to her entire address book, so you should all have this new email.

Entry 84: The Birthday Dinner

After the Royals game last night, we decided to finish off Lance's birthday celebration by using the gift card that Lance's parents gave him and eat at Cracker Barrel for dinner. We very very rarely eat there, so it was a nice change of pace. Julie ended up eating the grilled chicken fingers, baked apples, and fries. Lance went a little off the beaten path and had the blackened catfish, mac and cheese, and baked apples. Overall it was a good meal that we both enjoyed.

Entry 83: Happy Birthday To Lance

Well today is Lance's birthday and as part of his birthday present Julie bought him tickets to the Royals/Cardinals game. We had great seats and unfortunately the Royals lost (badly I might add). We were sitting in the sun the entire game and neither one of us thought to bring the sun screen. You will see a picture below of the consequences of this by looking at Julie's legs. You will also notice that most of the stadium was wearing red, which made Lance rather unhappy. Many of you might be asking what Julie wore, and after much consideration she donned a red shirt and a Royals hat to keep the peace. Enjoy the pictures below.

Entry 82: The Elms

After a long day last Saturday, Lance arranged for Julie and himself to stay at The Elms hotel in Excelsior Springs. This hotel is very historic and absolutely beautiful. We were lucky enough to get the bridal suite and we were both excited about the jacuzzi tub. We were treated wonderfully and were even given a bottle of champagne and complimentary robes. Before coming back the next morning we had a wonderful breakfast down in the restaurant. If you have not been to the Elms we would both highly recommend it.

My brother took some pictures from the wedding and you can access them by clicking on the link below. We promise that we will blog more about the wedding and events leading up to it when we get a chance. So keep checking back with the blog and we love you all.

Entry 77: A Day With The Relatives

Yesterday we decided to take a much needed break from the wedding and took the day to explore the Kansas City Zoo. Now the reason we titled this entry a day with the relatives is because as we were pulling into the park Julie got off the phone with her aunt Jackie and she told Julie to say hi to the relatives, hence the entries name. Once we got into the park we mapped out what animals we would like to see and were able to view all of them. Believe it or not we both agreed that the tiger was our favorite because it was just hanging outside inside of a hollowed out tree and just relaxing. Enjoy the pictures.

Entry 76: The Greatest Moms Ever

When you look up greatness in the dictionary you will see a picture of our 2 moms. Lance's mom and Julie both stayed behind a few weeks ago (Lance was at a Royals game) and put together party favors. Meanwhile, Julie's mom came up last week and stayed to help put together the remaining party favors, folded programs, and helped us take care of remaining wedding projects. We are both blessed to have such wonderful and caring mothers.

Entry 75: Concert In The Park

On Tuesday Liberty had a concert in the pakr. Since Julie's mom was here we thought it would be fun. We took a blanket and enjoyed some music from John Phillip Sousa.

Entry 74: Lance's Wedding Ring

Last Friday we were walking around and Julie suggested that we stop and look at wedding rings for Lance. Low and behold he found one that he liked right off the bat and you can see what it looks like above. The day is getting closer and closer.

Entry 73: The Bachelor Party

Last Saturday was the long awaited bachelor party for Lance. Some of his friends and family joined him for a Royals game and sat in the all you can eat seats. This means that you can have all the hot dogs, popcorn, peanuts, nachos, and soda you want. Lance went in with high expectations, but unfortunately didn't meet these high standards he set for himself when he only ate 4 hot dogs and 2 baskets of nachos. On the bright side the Royals won making them 3-0 when Lance is at the game.
