Entry 62: Spring Is Here
Well the weather has been gorgeous lately, so we decided that it was time to do some yard work and plant some flowers. Julie had a good idea of what she wanted to do and Lance decided that he was just going to let Julie go nuts and do it the way she wanted. We are both impressed by how it looked. We decided to buy two hanging plants which are absolutely gorgeous. and you can also notice the nice wrought iron hangers Julie also decided to buy to complement the plants with. Julie also decided to buy two small shrubs to place next to the larger one and she topped it off with some black mulch. Now many of you may be thinking that Lance had his hands full planting all of that, but a majority of the work was done by Julie and Lance loved the fact that he was able to supervise. Enjoy the pictures.
Entry 61: Doggy Obedience School Week 3
Well after yesterdays session, we have come to the conclusion that our dog enjoys the trainer, Corie, more than us. She can be the most unruly dog there is, but as soon as Corie shows up our dog just sits there and becomes the model student. Saying it frustrates the both of us is an understatement.
Everyone will be happy to know though that again Maggie did very well in the class. Underneath her gruff exterior she really is a smart animal. She now officially knows how to sit just by using a hand signal. Our homework for this week promises to be the toughest yet. This week we are working on teaching Maggie to lie down using only a hand signal and also to drop something from her mouth when we say leave it. The leave it homework will by far be the toughest because Maggie enjoys chewing Lance's socks, but we will see what we can do. Maggie is already doing a good job with the laying down and Lance is hoping he can teach her to dance (which means Maggie sits, lays down, and then gets back into the sit position again). We are both thrilled to death with the dogs progress so far and can't wait to unveil the new, more improved Maggie.

Lance learned today that the broadcasting class that he teaches has officially been named the top junior high broadcasting program in the state of Missouri. We are very proud of what he has accomplished with the class.

Entry 59: Our Wedding Website
The venue that we are holding our wedding and reception at, the Wynbrick, recently set us up with a website. Our website gives you our story on how we met, directions to the Wynbrick, shows the places we are registered at, gives you the hotels that we have rooms blocked off at, and also gives you a chance to meet the people in our wedding party. You will need to fill out the form on the website and it will send it to Julie who will email you the password to enter the site. You can click on the link below to go to our wedding website.

Entry 58: Doggy Obedience School Week 2
Remember the cliche "it's like a difference between day and night", well that resembles this week of doggy school. Believe it or not, Maggie was one of the moist well behaved animals there. She did not cause any fights and even during play time let another dog come and play with her (it's a good thing Julie brought Kleenex because this moment brought a tear to Lance's eyes). We may even be a little bit impartial, but Maggie learned this weeks trick before any other dog did. The week's trick is to learn to sit the first time by using a hand signal and than staying there for 3-5 seconds. Maggie is so darn smart that she can do that already. The other thing we have to work on this week could be the most difficult thing ever, the loose leash walk. The loose leash walk will take some time, but we know in the end she will be able to do it. All we have to say is that our little Maggie is on her way to graduating obedience school, take that all of you people who say our dog is incorrigible.

Entry 57: Registering - Part 2
Today we decided to go and register for some more things at a few stores because everyone was so generous to us at the bridal shower. If you click on the links below and go to either Target or Kohls, you will see some of the new items we registered for.

Entry 56: Man Room Addition
Like most men, Lance now has a man room which is technically the basement. Most people know that there are a few things in life that Lance loves: Julie, the Iowa Hawkeyes, the Kansas City Royals, and the St. Louis Rams. He likes to decorate his man room with lots of sports memorabilia. Well every year a school in his district has an online auction for many things, and the one thing he always bids on is the authentic autographed Marc Bulger jersey. Marc Bulger is the Rams starting quarterback and one of Lance's favorite players, but every year the jersey goes for about $150 which is too rich for his blood. Well this year Lance put down the minimum bid of $50 and actually won the jersey. Lance is thrilled and will display this proudly down in his man room.
Entry 55: The Invitations
We have been real busy lately putting invitations together, and we are both thrilled to say that they are finally done. We sent all of them out on Thursday and many people have already received them. We disagreed about who was going to do what, but we settled it the only fair way and that was through a round of Wii bowling. We played best 2 out of 3, and Julie ended up winning 2-1 after winning the last game by 3 pins. It was hard fought and Lance was given the crummy job of stuffing every envelope while Julie was able to put the labels on. The sending of the invitations means that the big day is right around the corner and we both can't wait until the big day is here.

Entry 54: Hotel Alerts
Yesterday we were taking care of some hotel reservations for Lance's grandmother and came to find out that rooms are being booked up quickly. The Comfort Suites now have no two queen bed rooms left, but they do have some king beds still available. The Holiday Inn Express still has both kind of rooms available, but they are also filling up quickly. I guess what we are trying to say is that if you have not booked your hotel room yet, you may want to do it quickly.

Entry 53: Doggy Obedience School, Week One
About a month ago we decided to enroll our dog, Maggie, in doggie obedience classes. We decided to do this because the dog is a little rambunctious and has a real poor attitude. Today was the first day of class and it was quite an ordeal. As soon as we got to the class Maggie decided to show them all who was boss by growling and barking at the other dogs. Needless to say no one wanted to sit next to us after that. After about 30 minutes Maggie finally calmed down and we were able to work on her behavioral issues. Our homework for next week is pretty easy which is to give the dog a doggie massage (this is Julie's job), get her used to the clicker, and teach her to pay attention using the clicker. This should be interesting and just think there are 7 more classes left.
Entry 52: Bridal Shower Pictures
It has taken us awhile to go through all of the bridal shower pictures and it would take us forever to post all of the pictures. So what we did is made them a slide show and put them on the Internet. That way everyone can see the pictures that we took and even print them off at Target if they want. We do want to thank everyone for organizing this event and also to everyone who attended and made this day so special. Click on the link below to enjoy the pictures.

Entry 51: The Bridal Shower
Last Sunday we had our first wedding shower and it took place in Washington, Missouri. We had a great time and were blown away by every ones generosity. We were truly moved by how much effort everyone put in to make this day so special. Below you will see some of the decorations from the event and keep checking back because there will be many more pictures from the shower.

Entry 50: Adventures In Babysitting, Part 2
Tonight we went and babysat for one of our friends and had a great time. The little girl absolutely adores Julie, as you can see by the pictures below. We put together a puzzle, had some dinner, and watched a movie. All in all it was a good time. We both agree that those two children are absolutely adorable.
